Previously on Living in America

After 1 year in the US, I finally decided to start a blog. I love to read blogs of friends living in exotic countries and touring the world, blogs of friends back home, and blogs of mere strangers (mostly Americans) moving to Belgium - the other way around - ranting about the differences, difficulties, language barriers and dog poop on the Brussels' avenues, but also the joys of their new life in the heart of Europe.

We are long past the moving circus, house hunt, dealing with strange traditions in what we thought would be a country very similar to the one we just left. We've established our new life here, decorated our home, met new people and made friends (but of course we miss our friends and family back home), picked our teams (we root for the Nationals, the Wizards, the Caps and the Redskins), found that one great local restaurant ...and the perfect hairdresser (for me).
